Add or Edit a Content Expiration Rule
Rev allows admin users to create a content Expiry Rule so that specific videos may be set to Inactive or Deleted entirely from the system on specific dates or if they have not been viewed after a certain amount of days.
For example, you could create an Expiry Rule to set a video to Inactive status if it has not been viewed in 365 days. Or, you could create a rule to make sure all Human Resource videos are set to expire after 5 days.
*To create or edit an expiry rule:
1. Navigate to Admin > Media Settings > Expiration Management.
2. Click the Add Expiry Rule button. A new rule will appear at the bottom of the list.
3. Enter an Expiry Rule Name. Click a previously created rule to edit the attributes.

Caution: You may only edit the name, default, and deletion status of a previously created rule. If you want to edit the type and days attributes, you must create a new rule with the attribute settings you want and add your videos again. You may do this through the bulk edit status feature if you have several videos to add. Then delete your old rule.
4. Specify if the rule is to be Number of Days Before Expiry or Number of Days without Views. Number of Days Before Expiry will keep the video visible by the number you enter in the Days field and then expire (or delete) the content on the next day.
If you specify Number of Days without View, the video will expire (or delete) if it has not been viewed (or partially viewed) by the number in the Days field.
The video uploader will be emailed 7 days prior to video expiration and again upon the actual expiration no matter which rule is created.
5. Check the Delete Upon Expiry checkbox if you want the video to be deleted when it expires. Otherwise, it will be set to Inactive.
6. Click the Default checkbox to make the rule the default rule that is selected automatically when a video is uploaded. Only one rule may be a default rule at a time. you may also deselect all rules so that no default rule is set.
7. Click the Delete (x) icon to delete the rule. If a rule is deleted, the content associated with it will no longer expire.

Tip: If a default rule is set, that rule will be automatically selected when a new video is uploaded. However, Account Admin and Media Contributor roles may override the rule or select a different expiration method if desired.
