Enable Closed Captions on a Video
Closed captions may be enabled on video uploads by selecting the Enabled tab in the Closed Captions section.
Tip: Uploading a subtitle (.srt) file is not the same as enabling closed captions for a video. A subtitle file can be created in the language of your choice and you also have a great deal of control over your formatting options. Subtitles are normally concerned with just the spoken words in a video. Closed captions are encrypted within the video file itself and you have less control over formatting. Further, closed captions normally also note additional items other than the human voice such as sound effects occurring (breaking glass, music playing, and so forth). |
Use the Video Settings button on the Video Player form to enable closed captioning in Rev.
To enabled closed captions:1. Navigate to a video.
2. Click the Video Settings > Advanced Settings dropdown option.
3. Click the Enabled tab in the Closed Captions section.
4. A CC button will appear on the video so that users can select Closed Captions while viewing the video. Note: You must have a compatible browser that supports closed captioning otherwise it will not function even if enabled and present in a video.
