Edit Webcast Settings
Not all settings may be edited once a Webcast has started or is broadcasting. For settings that may be edited or modified after it has started or is broadcasting, see the Edit Webcast Settings During an Event section.
Basic Settings
Create a Custom URL for a Webcast Event
You may create a custom URL for your Webcast to make it easier to remember for attendees. This URL may be reused for multiple events as long as those events do not conflict in date and time.
Once created, the custom URL will be displayed everywhere current Webcast URLs are featured.
To create a custom URL for a Webcast Event:
1. Navigate the Event Calendar and select the event.
2. Scroll to or open the Basic Settings section.
3. Modify the Webcast Shortcut field with the friendly name you want to use. Your Rev URL will be auto-completed for you.
a. You may only use letters, numbers and dashes.
b. The shortcut must be a value between 5 and 50 characters in length.
c. It may not be assigned to another Webcast whose pre-production time and lobby time start and end time overlap.
d. Webcast shortcuts may not be edited once the event starts (see: Edit Webcast Settings During an Event).
Note also that if a Webcast shares a custom URL with other events, clicking on the Webcast Link on the The Webcast Landing Page displays the Select Event drop-down. This drop-down contains each event that shares the URL and may be subsequently browsed through.
The Permanent Link will always go directly to a specific Webcast whereas the Webcast Link will display all events that share the shortcut. Finally, the Copy Event Info button copies the current Webcast Link information.
