Vbrick, Inc. Enables GDPR Compliance with New Data Protection Tools
Vbrick®, makers of Rev®, the enterprise video market leader announced compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As part of Vbrick’s mission to simplify the complexity of creating, managing and delivering video for use within the enterprise, Vbrick’s compliance with GDPR will further protect customer data as well as enable specific customers to delete data upon request.
On May 25, 2018, organizations across the world that handle or support customers in the European Union need to be compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This affects not only EU companies but any company that handles data for EU residents, even if the data processing occurs outside of the EU borders. The penalty for non-compliance is high, the first starting at €10 million or 2% of global turnover for offenses related to data processing, security, and storage, the second level being €20 million or up to 4% of annual turnover.
“GDPR represents a dramatic shift in how businesses are required to handle customer data. EU citizens now have the right to request a copy of their data and have records deleted if they choose,” said Peter Hammond Giles, Head of International Sales for Vbrick. “Vbrick is well positioned to ensure all customer data is tracked, protected, encrypted, and accessible.”
Vbrick also announced its first European-based data center located in Frankfurt, Germany to serve its growing customer base around the EU. The new EU data center comes after Vbrick’s recent expansion into EMEA with operations in London. “The launch of our EU data center is important for our European customers to better enable them to manage and deliver their enterprise video content,” said Peter Hammond Giles. “As a leader of the most reliable enterprise content delivery network, Vbrick is ideally situated to tackle the intricate needs of our customers on a global scale unique to the enterprise video industry. We are 100% committed to our EMEA clients and to developing solutions that meet and exceed their expectations as we continue to expand internationally.”
Vbrick believes in the power of video to transform the workplace. Its Rev® enterprise video platform removes the technology and pricing restraints that have held business back from tapping video’s clear advantage to persuade, inform and compel people, wherever they are. Visit vbrick.com.
