Role Definitions and Permissions
VBrick Rev comes with the following predefined roles and permissions.
Role
Permissions
Description
Account Admin
Access to All Features
Manage All Content
Manage All Users and Groups
Manage All Account and Sub-Account Settings
Allows a user to manage everything within an account. They will have access to all settings and can manage all content within their account and all sub-accounts. Assign this role to your system Administrators.
Media Admin
All permissions granted to Media Contributors, plus permission to:
Manage all video assets in the system
Manage Media Settings including categories, player settings, recording, transcoding, features, approval processes and so forth.
Users with this role can access all video assets in the system, as well as configure media settings associated to video assets in the Admin area. Assign this role to users who will be managing stored video assets for your system.
Media Contributor
All permissions granted to Media Viewers, plus permissions to:
Upload video assets (anything available under the Add Content + icon) including recording live streams
View/edit content based on permissions
Users with this role can access video assets and events to which they have been explicitly granted access, as well as add content to the system. Assign this role to users that will be contributing content to the system, but should not be able to administer the system as a whole.
Media Viewer
Search for video assets
View video assets to which user has been granted access
Edit video assets to which user has been granted access
Attend events to which user has been granted access
Moderate events to which user has been granted moderator access
This user cannot add content
This is the most basic role that can be assigned to a user and is the default role assigned when a user account is created. Users with this role can only access video assets and event to which they have explicitly been granted access. Media viewers cannot add content to the system.
Event Admin
All permissions granted to Media Viewers, plus permissions to:
Create events
Edit events
Start events
Control Events
View Private Events
Users with this role can create and manage events. Assign this role to users who will be managing events for your system.
Event Host
Permissions to create and control live events including:
Create events
Edit events (if created by the host)
Start events (if created by the host)
Control Events (if created by the host or designated by an Event Admin)
Users with this role can manage events they create. Assign this role to users who will be creating and managing events for your system. This role may not see Private Events created by other Event Admins. They will have read-only access to Events created by other Event Admins if they have been provided access to the event. Hosts will not be able to edit Events created by other Event Admins or Hosts.
